Ulli Lommel is in negotiations for shooting THE BOOGEYMAN TV-SERIES
starting to film in Los Angeles and Alberta, Canada in July 2015 with an
initial 26 one-hour episodes. Budget for the series is an estimated $4
million per episode. Lommel owns the BOOGEYMAN FRANCHISE since 1980,
when he wrote, produced and directed a cult sensation grossing over $35
million world-wide on a budget of only $300,000. In 2005, Sam Raimi
executive produced the remake which became a No. 1 Box-Office hit with
over $150 million in revenues.
As to the story of the TV-Series, Lommel goes back to the year 1861, when the spirit of THE BOOGEYMAN was born, after a lynch mob killed an innocent native American from the Apache tribe. The bible for the TV-Series was written by Colin McCracken, Ulli Lommel and David Bond. Frank Dragun, Omar Kaczmarczyk and David Bond are slated as producers with Peter Davis (HIGHLANDER) as Executive Producer.
Howlin' Wolf Records, who recently released the restored soundtrack of the 1980 cult classic, has been retained to oversee the production of the music for the BOOGEYMAN TV-SERIES. A Multi-media blitz including merchandising of THE BOOGEYMAN creature, a video game and a graphic novel will accompany the series.
