FROM OUR SPONSORS: Howlin' Wolf Records Releases "SHOCK WAVES and "THE TOY SOLDIERS"...

Shock Waves [1977]: proved to be a film of several firsts. It was the first of the "Nazi zombie" films which has entered and stayed in the pop-culture mainstream, firmly establishing itself as a fan favorite since its premiere. It opened up the territory for other Nazi zombie pictures , including Zombie Lake (1981), The Treasure of the Living Dead (1982, also known as Oasis of the Zombies), Hard Rock Zombies (1985), Horrors of War (2006, aka Zombies of War), Outpost (2008) and Dead Snow (2009), not to forget the highly-popular manga and its spin-off anime, Hellsing (1997-2009).

First feature for director Ken Wiederhorn, as well as composer Richard Einhorn. Wiederhorn's thesis film at Columbia University, Manhattan Melody (1973), had previously won the Student Academy Award for Best Dramatic Film in its inaugural year. Shot on a shoestring budget, with the gracious participation of two film heavyweights in Peter Cushing and John Carradine, It proved that one didn't over-the-top effects or technical perfection to create a movie of chilling psychological horror.

The Toy Soldiers [2014]: Written/Directed by Erik Peter Carlson   Starring Constance Brenneman, Chandler Rylko, Najarra Townsend, Jeanette May, Nick Frangione, Samuel Nolan, Thatcher Robinson, Megan Hensley, Andre Myers, Izzy Pollak, Kevin Pinassi and Amelia Haberman.

On one evening in a decade of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, the innocence of youth and family unravels. Five parallel coming-of-age stories dramatize the stages of grief. A youthful mother in a custody battle over her children, finds tranquility with the bottle. The abuse of her ex-husband still haunts the children; a nineteen year old drug addict, and his younger brother, a bullied closet homosexual. There's the story of the dog; a teen who offers sexual favors to gain acceptance, the challenged classmate who would do anything for her love, and the redhead beauty, haunted by a secret, tragic past. These lives and others will change forever on this final evening before their hangout, The Toy Soldiers Roller Rink, closes its doors for the final time.

Just Announced! For more information on these two releases, please visit "HOWLIN' WOLF RECORDS".  One is a classic horror film "SHOCK WAVES" released in 1977 and the other is "THE TOY SOLDIERS" a current film.

HBA Members Happy Holidays and Good-bye!

I am not sure how many of you might celebrate the coming holiday or the end of the year, but I hope you spend it with family and friends. I have made many friends here over the last few years and found some awesome blog sites too. We all started blogging for different reasons and most of us here are some kind of fans to HORROR, it's been a great pleasure. Over the last year or so I have seen a steady decrease in people wanting to join the HBA or sites that have started and then stopped in a shorter amount of time. Time being the key word here, we struggle with the time issue as we maintain our sites.

So where do we go from here, what should happen next... who cares?
I won't be updating this site until next year, some changes are always coming and I wanted to thank those who visit here. You are all the best, be the best and will be welcome here. THANK YOU!

Don't just give a Muck, give to Muck!

MUCK Kickstarter Passes $225,000 in Pledges!

Anchor Bay Entertainment has unveiled the first Official Theatrical Trailer for MUCK, as well as new exclusive poster art (attached). Horror and gore fans alike should feast their eyes on this freshest take yet on the MUCK trailer, viewable on the main page of the Muck Kickstarter: bit.ly/MuckKickstarter.

Speaking of Feast, the MUCK Kickstarter campaign to fund the prequel, MUCK: Feast of Saint Patrick, is still under way, and recently surpassed the $200,000 mark on the way to the goal of raising a quarter of a million dollars. Just like the original, the MUCK prequel will boast death-defying stunts and practical effects, shot without the use of CGI – all in 4K Ultra HD.

As a production company, WithAnO wanted to give fans and Kickstarter backers alike an insight into what they’re supporting, and so recently released this exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage of one of MUCK’s incredible stunts: http://youtu.be/VzU2RZettks.

The daring stunt-woman in this case is Alexa Marcigliano, and her courage is palpable in the clip, sprinting O.S. through the pitch-black living room before bouncing on a trampoline, then hurling herself through the 4 x 6 picture window, out into the night. To say that hitting her mark was highly important is obviously an understatement. Jump too short, and Alexa would land head-first on the edge of the porch outside; too high, and she would hit window frame; too long, and she would overshoot the padding buried beneath the grass outside. And, since there was only room in the budget for one window, it had to be done in a single take.

These are the kinds of stunts that Steve Wolsh lives to shoot as a writer/director, but these kinds of stunts take time, money, and not least of all, the ultimate creative control that can only be afforded by independent financing. So remember, any mention or write-up on the Muck Kickstarter campaign directly furthers our goal of making another epic, independent horror film for true horror fans. The MUCK franchise is so close to this goal – a goal that at one time seemed insurmountable! – and we have all of you, our loyal supporters to thank.

MUCK stars horror legend Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th Part VII, VIII, Jason Goes to Hell, and Jason X), Lachlan Buchanan (Pretty Little Liars), and Bryce Draper (Bound), and co-stars 2012 Playboy Playmate of the Year Jaclyn Swedberg, Puja Mohindra, and Laura Jacobs. The middle chapter of an independently financed horror trilogy, MUCK will be unleashed in theaters on Friday the 13th, March 2015.

Give a little, give a lot... it's almost there and it's one Hell of a Movie!

Sponsors "Howlin' Wolf Records": Ulli Lommel is in negotiations for shooting THE BOOGEYMAN TV-SERIES!

  ------------------------------------
Ulli Lommel is in negotiations for shooting THE BOOGEYMAN TV-SERIES starting to film in Los Angeles and Alberta, Canada in July 2015 with an initial 26 one-hour episodes. Budget for the series is an estimated $4 million per episode. Lommel owns the BOOGEYMAN FRANCHISE since 1980, when he wrote, produced and directed a cult sensation grossing over $35 million world-wide on a budget of only $300,000. In 2005, Sam Raimi executive produced the remake which became a No. 1 Box-Office hit with over $150 million in revenues.

As to the story of the TV-Series, Lommel goes back to the year 1861, when the spirit of THE BOOGEYMAN was born, after a lynch mob killed an innocent native American from the Apache tribe. The bible for the TV-Series was written by Colin McCracken, Ulli Lommel and David Bond. Frank Dragun, Omar Kaczmarczyk and David Bond are slated as producers with Peter Davis (HIGHLANDER) as Executive Producer.

Howlin' Wolf Records, who recently released the restored soundtrack of the 1980 cult classic,  has been retained to oversee the production of the music for the BOOGEYMAN TV-SERIES. A Multi-media blitz including merchandising of THE BOOGEYMAN creature, a video game and a graphic novel will accompany the series.

Shockingly Sinister Shorts....

Compromise comes in many forms....

*A married couple was having a huge fight in front of their 16 year old son. The fight was centered around Mother’s Day. They had argued for weeks about how they would handle the event, but it was now the day before the holiday and things were getting very heated. The wife’s mother had passed away a few years ago and she wanted to drive two hours to visit the grave first. The husband wanted to go visit his still living mother first, who just happened to live 2 hours in the opposite direction. They both made valid arguments but it still lead to an all out fight with both parties saying horrible things to one another. After a solid hour of fighting, the couple agreed to disagree and they would both go their separate ways in the morning. The husband would spend the day with his mother and the wife would drive out and pay her respects at the cemetery. They left it up their son to decide whom he would choose to go with. The husband headed off to sleep on the couch as the wife stormed off upstairs. The next morning, the family meets in the kitchen.*

Son: Before anybody has a chance to start arguing again, I wanted to say I am not happy at all the way you acted. I really don’t appreciate you both putting me in the middle and making me choose who I want to visit today. I loved both my grandparents, and I want to show my respect and love for them both.

Husband: You’re right. We acted horrible.

Wife: I’m sorry we did that.

Son: You both are always telling me to find common ground in an argument and seek out a compromise rather than be a child and walk away mad. You both should practice what you preach.

Wife: You are so right dear. I feel awful about how we acted.

Son: We are a family and we should do everything as a family. Since neither of you seem capable of being the adult here and coming up with a compromise that would be fair to us all, I took matters into my own hands and found a solution.

Husband: Oh you did? What did you come up with son?

Son: It took most of the night, but I think my decision is fair for all. Now we can visit both of your mothers together at the same time.

Wife: What are you talking about? How is that possible?

Son: I brought both my grandmothers together. Dad, your mom is with her mom now.

Husband: WHAT! Oh my Lord! What have you done? Are you insane? You buried my mother?

Son: Please dad! That is absolutely crazy! I would never harm a hair on grandma's head! Last night I drove out and got grandma and brought her back here. She is waiting for us out in the garage as we speak.

Wife: That is a bit odd honey, but how does that bring us to a common ground compromise. We still have to drive for 2 hours to visit my mother’s grave.

Son: Nope! I went and got her too! I told you they were together…..

Time for some Shockingly Sinister Shorts!

Hello Horror Fans! I am wicKED and I look forward to bringing you some shock..maybe a little chill from time to time.Tis the season for tales and stories of the macabre. Hope you enjoy!

*a phone on a bed side table rings in the middle of the night.*

Woman answering phone: Mmmph…..*clears throat*…..Hello?

Mysterious caller: Hello, I am your new neighbor down the street. It looks like there are some kids messing around your house. You better have your husband go out and check on it.

Woman answering phone: Oh no, my husband is out of town on business. I don’t know what to do.

Mysterious caller: That’s ok. You can meet me on your front porch and I will help you look around.

*the woman springs from the bed and heads to the closed bedroom door when she pauses and checks the caller ID built into the cordless phone*

Woman answering phone: Wait a minute. I don’t even know you and the number on the caller ID is a cell phone number. You could be an axe murderer calling from anywhere! I don’t trust you.

Mysterious caller: That is too bad. I was giving you one chance to trust in humanity, but you failed. You could have went to your porch and escaped to safety, but you didn’t. You are wrong about me being an axe murderer. I prefer knives, but you are right about the fact I could be anywhere. Turn around……..

Viking Vampires
They were caught in a grave for 1.000 years
and now they are thirsty for revenge...

The Actor: Indiegogo Campaign

Inspired by the craft of method acting and the extent an actor will go to perform a character The Actor is an indie feature film from Cape Town, made on a shoestring budget by a group of ambitious filmmakers who want to grow the South African film industry. Their budget was $4,000.00. Yup. They've just launched an Indiegogo Campaign to raise the finishing funds. With this they can take The Actor to international film markets like AFM and Cannes and bring this gem of an indie horror film to a cinema near you.

For More Information: http://igg.me/at/theactor-movie

Michael Kyne and Bianca Allaine Barnett: Web of Deceit | Indiegogo Project!

Michael Kyne and Bianca Allaine Barnett:
Web of Deceit | Indiegogo Project!

Please donate or share! Michael Kyne and Bianca Allaine Barnett originally produced the short film Web of Deceit (formerly M is for Marriage) as an entry into the ABCs of Death 2 Search for the 26th Director competition. In that vote-based competition, Web of Deceit placed 20th out of over 250 entries from all over the world. Now, Michael and Bianca are raising funds to produce a limited run (100) of festival edition DVDs and take their short to independent film festivals. This limited festival edition will also contain bonus materials, including  behind the scenes interviews and trailers.

Currently, Web of Deceit is entered into The Indie Gathering International Film Festival in Hudson, Ohio. We need funds to secure a vendors table as well as room and board at the festival.

The Dark Side of Venus: Indiegogo Project

IT'S ABOUT A troubled stripper named Venus, whose quiet life is upended when Brian -  the love of her life - Breaks up with her… and now Venus, disturbed to begin with, starts a downward spiral into maddening psychosis. BUT… THERE'S A TWIST. And we don't want to give it away by outlining the entire plot of our film… Find Out More:

WE PROMISE A VERY SEXY, GROUNDED, CHARACTER-DRIVEN, TWISTED TALE!!! But at our story's core, and what will set this film apart from standard genre fare, is a deeply human story about the pain of heartbreak. A Love Tragedy. We promise escape.  THE DARK SIDE OF VENUS will not only be that escape, it’ll be a ride – always surprising, always thrilling, and always shockingly psychotic in the best of ways.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE DIRECTOR: JON KNAUTZ
After the successes of his short films, Jon parlayed his talent into his first feature film JACK BROOKS:MONSTER SLAYER starring Robert Englund (the infamous Freddy Krueger from  A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET). The film gained considerable attention throughout the festival circuit and received rave reviews. The film screened at the 2008 Slamdance film festival and subsequently sold to Anchor Bay. His second feature, THE SHRINE, premiered at the 2010 FanTasia Int'l Film Festival and won the Audience Award for Best Canadian Feature. Shortly after, the film was purchased by IFC and is currently streaming on NETFLIX.

We have the first few episodes written, an incredibly talented cast and crew excited to weave it all together, and a community of artists ready to support us.

But we don't have the cash money to create the pilot episode for this story at the production standards it needs to be fully awesome-ized. So we need your help!  WAIT WHAAAA?!-  Well all I can say is, you all need to click here... no "HERE" to read all about it and find out more of these crazy "Monster Girls"!

So what are you waiting for?

Quick Update: I have fallen and I can't get up!

My wife has taken away all my electronics for awhile, I fell on ice last Saturday and broke my ankle where the short of it is I have 8 screws and a new holding plate. I am heavy medicated and loopy, typing this I hope it makes sense. Now this is not the world's worst injury, I have never broke anything. I want to thank all my friends and family for all the support. I looked in my email folder there is like 650 emails, I cannot even pull enough to start looking at them.

I have a regular doctor's appointment today for some other issues, then it's bed rest for two solid weeks and then back to the other doctor for more... I have an iPad once in a while so I am on Facebook. My wife is sleeping right now, so she doesn't know I am here. Shhhhhhhh!

I will be back, I am really not used to this type of pain... sorry I am a wuss! I will try to catch up soon, thank you for your friendship and "I will be back"... I am going to duplicate this on my sites, so if have read this before... you have!
