I couldnt have picked a better list myself, I just hope everyone takes the opportunity to track down any of the films on the list that they may not have seen previously!
I submit the Matthew Broderick Civil War epic, "Glory"....
Not a horror movie, but it has a great shot of a guy getting hit in the head with a cannonball.
Woot!!! 8/10 I voted for made it on there. And the 2 that I didn't vote for, were some of my runner-ups. I guess we really know good head explosions when we see them!

What movie was that last clip from? I want to marry the man with the James Brown-on-steroids hairdo! And I could rewatch Deadly Friend's basketball scene over and over and over again for the rest of my life. In a perfect world, that is.
I was thinking strictly horror or I definitely would have included Riki-Oh! I freaking love that film!
Scanners was like, mega predictable for a first place win.:P
The only one I'm missing on there is William Lustig's 'Maniac.' I feel pretty good about that.
I can't believe that I forgot about some of those films when putting my suggestions in. I'm glad that a couple of mine (Riki-Oh, Dawn and Grindhouse) got in.
I should mention that I actually nominated 'Scanner Cop' over 'Scanners,' just because he blows Richard Lynch's metal plate out of his skull and THEN blows it up! Not that I'm taking anything away from the awesome 'watermelon shotgun-blasting' from 'Scanners.'
I forgot the Last House On The Left remake in my list, but I had 9 out of 10! yay! This was definitely a great Top Ten.
It's a great list, but let me put in a plus for Species 2, as the head not only explodes, but reforms....
