THEM! deserves a touch-up. Just a little one though; I'd shoot from the same script, or almost the same. I just want more ants, and want them more mobile.
I dont have a problem with remakes, i just look at them as re-vision of an old tale. Some are going to be good, some are going to be horrible, remakes are always going to happen, there is no stopping it with that said I would remake The Pit or Maniac Cop...
The Crow. Fantastic film, but I'd see it more brutal and unrelenting. The Crow is, after all, a zombie, and the opening scene would be more like something out of Irreversible.

Freaks... would just be interesting to see it made nowadays. As long as I could enforce a strict 'no CGI' rule though ;)
I always thought Gremlins could be an interesting one if it was more focused on horror. I actually wrote an article today on upcoming horror remakes.
The Crow. Fantastic film, but I'd see it more brutal and unrelenting. The Crow is, after all, a zombie, and the opening scene would be more like something out of Irreversible.
I always thought "Legend of Hell House" would have been good to remake closer to the book form and rated R or NC-17.
just a few, that i really thought about...
The Last Man on Earth, The Masque of the Red Death, Jack the Giant Killer and more modern film... Nightbreed
yes, i know... i read only one... but they are different... and ever since the late nineties i wanted to remake them...
